Methodology

Iron Sky is a true turn-key systems integrator and has learned from experience that successful projects do not just happen. They are a result of doing the right thing the right way in the right order. Iron Sky’s methodology reflects what we’ve learned and is designed to ensure the success of every project we undertake.
We offer a one-throat-to-choke partnership with our clients that eliminates the down time and confusion that comes from multiple vendors pointing fingers back and forth. Iron Sky provides every aspect of the solution from design to procurement to installation to ongoing service.
Site Audit
Once Iron Sky has a solid understanding of the prospective client’s goals for a project, and the prospective client feels that Iron Sky has the appropriate solution, a site audit is scheduled with all relevant client staff with a stake in the project. This typically includes Law Enforcement, Facilities, Utilities and IT departments and is open to anyone the client deems beneficial to attend. During this meeting Iron Sky will work to get a solid understanding of the client’s safety and security challenges that are prompting the initiative and gather additional information regarding current safety and security systems, safety and security procedures, environmental concerns/CPTED, lighting levels, availability of electrical power to potential equipment locations, facility construction, distance to the intended subjects, current threat levels, prior incidents, client personnel levels and many other factors that play a part in the design and implementation of a successful physical security solution. Depending on the scope of the project, additional site audits may be scheduled to ensure all relevant data have been gathered.
System Design
Upon completion of the physical site audit Iron Sky will collaborate with the client to identify a strategy for addressing the client’s unique safety and security challenges. Iron Sky personnel will use the information obtained during the site audit to determine the equipment and installation methods required for a successful implementation.
Iron Sky personnel have considerable experience designing large, enterprise-wide systems for critical municipal infrastructure applications, cities, public schools, colleges and universities, military bases, healthcare facilities, transportation agencies, judicial centers, detention facilities, wireless applications and many others.
Integration

To most firms in the physical security industry, “integration” simply means getting a software or hardware solution to work the way the manufacturer intended it to work. That isn’t integration, that’s “plug-and-play”.
Iron Sky believes that true integration is getting two different applications from two different manufacturers to work together in ways neither manufacturer intended, but yet results in significantly more value to the client than the two systems offered independently.
Iron Sky is a full-service software development firm that approaches solution creation and integration with an open-standards/open-architecture way of thinking. Our goal is not to lock our clients into using our solution because they have to. Our goal is to offer so much value to our clients based on the way we look at dissimilar systems that clients continually receive better, more effective results from their current solutions.
Hardware
Iron Sky provides all equipment necessary to deliver a complete, turn-key solution. Every camera, wireless radio, server, storage device, switch, housing, mount, power supply, cable, fitting and fastener that is identified in the system design is provided by Iron Sky.
Installation
Iron Sky provides complete installation services for every component it sells. Depending on the location and scope of the project, Iron Sky will either utilize Iron Sky installation crews or subcontract the work to qualified and vetted subcontractors. Subcontractors undergo an extensive qualification process and are continually evaluated to ensure compliance with Iron Sky installation standards. All installation projects are managed by full-time Iron Sky employees, not subcontractors.
Iron Sky is able to allocate resources around the country as needed to ensure project timelines are adhered to and is able to scale up its resources for multi-site projects on short deadlines.
Project Management
Full-time Iron Sky employees are responsible for designing and managing every phase of a client engagement and have extensive experience with large-scale projects. At no time during the project are subcontractors brought on to manage projects.
Ongoing Service and Support
A major part of Iron Sky’s partnership with the client is ongoing maintenance and support. To ensure minimal downtime and impact to the client’s staff and resources, Iron Sky designs an aggressive and proactive support plan that addresses each client’s unique solution, resources and challenges. Iron Sky can provide every aspect of service from remotely monitoring the system to proactively dispatching Iron Sky service personnel to resolve an issue onsite.
Iron Sky’s corporate offices, located in Houston, Texas, will provide Technical Support to all end users. Iron Sky also provides proactive remote monitoring of all software and hardware to determine potential issues and remote diagnostics are employed to ensure maximum system uptime with a minimal impact to client personnel.
User Training
Once the surveillance system has been installed, Iron Sky provides onsite user training on every aspect of the system in a train-the-trainer model. Attendees of the training session each receive a copy of the Iron Sky User Manual for future reference.
There is no charge for user training and Iron Sky will train as many trainers- as many times- as the client requests.
As-Built Drawings Upon the client’s request, Iron Sky can provide As-Built CAD drawings of the surveillance system identifying the location of devices, cable routing, IDF/MDF locations, legend for the drawing and other pertinent information. Drawings will be furnished after the installation is complete.
